Christmas 2008 - the living example of the failure of the “Tshwane “Council - in providing service to the people. The detention of 50 innocent residents of Schubert Park today is strongly condemned.Objection to the deliberate electricity suspension and non performance of the G. Ramokgopa led council of the ruling ANC – led to our people spending Christmas weekend in jail, whilst the ruling elite live in luxury and in total disregard of the plight of the poor. We do not buy the excuse of lightning and nature responsible for the power cuts. The saga of Schubert park is now with us for many months and already during August 2008 Ramokgopa declared a break down in communication with the residents. Amazing that the very same ANC led council could find ways to communicate with people about street name changes and in the process force their will on the citizens of this city.
We are facing serious disregard by the ANC regime for the welfare and social stability of our people in Pretoria. Vukuzenzele Democratic Movement demands the immediate release of the people in distress. The housing allocation processes in Pretoria are controlled by favourism for the ruling elite and their hence men. This is evident all over Lotus Gardens,Soshanguwe,Mamelodi and Diepsloot. Some of our members are waiting now for more than 4 years on clarification and allocation of stands for housing in these areas and all efforts by our people for answers are disregarded. What exectly are these so- called democratically elected cuoncillors and management of our city trying to hide and protect. Corrupt tender processes?
We warn you - arrogant officials and councillors - working for their own pockets - will be removed by the people.You are here to serve the people and to improve our lives.
WE DEMAND :
An independent inquiry into the corrupt practices regarding housing and in particular the illegal allocation of flats of Schubert and Kruger park to corrupt officials of the ANC.Many of these flats were allocated to officials and other ANC elitists - which then rented these flats to the poor and needy.We demand that a list of names are published of everyone who were allocated a flat durung the last 5yrs and which criteria were applied in each case for the allocation.
A report on the real reasons for the decay of the Schubert and Kruger Park blocks and the facts about the mismanagement of the assets of the people.
An independent inquiry into the allocation processes of stands for housing in Lotus Gardens, Soshanguwe and Diepsloot over the last 10 years.We are waiting now for years to find out about the corrupt tender processes and allocation of stands in Lotus Gardens - nothing is done about this - but in the meantime 98 stands were re-allocated to a contractor who has no building experience.
Immediate suspension of the ANC council and the recall of the mayor Ramokgopa.
